In looking for a chocolate mold that was appropriate for my intended purpose of making THE BEST HEALTHY CHOCOLATE at home, I found this mold of a Mayan head! Since becoming interested in chocolate for health and not for candy, I have been studying the benefits and original uses! The Mayan's and Incas of Central and South America used it for health and called it "food of the gods". So, not only did I find this mold that measures exactly one (1) teaspoon per cavity (personally measured), but the representation conveys the mood I am after. It is true that presentation is "everything"! Making my first batch of chocolates was very easy using this mold. Filling the cavities was easy, using a teaspoon. (Make sure that you use a flat edge scraper like a baker's dough cutter Fat Daddio's Stainless Steel Dough Cutter to scrape the surface of the mold so that there is no chocolate above the cavity surface. Doing this will produce clean individual pieces of chocolate with minimum "tails.)" I filled the mold cavities, placed it in the freezer for 10 minutes and then tapped the mold, cavities down, against my counter top to release the pieces, I was very excited!! My chocolates came out of the mold very shiny and in great detail....just like the professional candy makers produce! I am a very happy with my mold and am now considering other Mayan molds for my other recipes of THE BEST healthy chocolate! Be Well!
