Before I give and indepth description let me say that overall I am very pleased with this product. After removing it from the box I found with a quick read of the instructions that it was very easy to put together. More than anything I was worried about its size but I found myself also very pleased with the height and overall look of the product. As a caterer I know a thing or two about chocolate so I didn't waste time trying to make it melt in the machine, but instead poured already melted chocolate (with much oil added)into the machine. Within a minute it was flowing freely down the tiers of the fountain. The machine is a bit noisy but who cares when you have a noisy party going on. It only stopped working once and since I didn't have much time to pay attention to it I don't know why. I think someone accidentally tapped the heating button or the flow button. Needless to say after making sure they were both on it started working again within 15 minutes. It is also a little messy. Make sure to have some type of overlay on your good tablecloths to catch any miscellaneous drips that fly off the machine. There weren't a bunch, until after eveyrone started playing with it, but if I hadn't had the forethought to create a mesh barrier around it for both decor and splatters I would have been very annoyed about the chocolate landing on my white tablecloth. I believe it took about 4 lbs of chocolate to get a full flow but there was still chocolate left at the end of the night with a party of about 75 people. Overall the machine is great for the money and I would and probably will purchase it again.

Bought this Chocolate fountain for a birthday party planning to have it as a center piece for people to enjoy. I was originally attracted to this product over other products because of its height and it specifically said you can also use it for cheese. Putting it together was very easy. Looked great. However, it just did not work as described!The motor was too weak! After melting 4 lbs of chocolate and oil together over the stove, I poured it in the fountain and you can literally hear the motor change to half speed! It could barely get the chocolate up. I followed the instructions and added 1/4 cup of oil to thin it out so it could flow easier. I did this 4 times before it looked decent. EVEN THEN, it did not flow like the picture! Lots of holes and breaks in the chocolate flow. I never got it to flow evenly down even after adjusting the legs and thinning out and adding more chocolate with more oil. Very disappointing... The chocolate was so thin and watery it was like eating chocolate flavored oil! Yuck! and still did not look like the picture.FINALLY, after about two hours, IT STOPPED!!!! The fountain totally quit, and that was the end of that.After the party, I turned it back on and it worked again, but it was too late. I had bought all the sides and skewers to dip. I was excited to have a cool chocolate fountain at the party.... VERY DISAPPOINTING PRODUCT.
